Rockhampton River Festival is a FREE event. Tickets are not required.
Using reclaimed and recycled materials, participants will craft vibrant, oversized flowers that represent something meaningful to the individual creating them. This engaging arts activity is designed for all ages and abilities.
The flowers created in this workshop will become part of Carla O’Brien’s famous ‘Neon Flower Garden‘ installation which will be exhibited at this year’s festival. The outside interactive gallery which has been exhibited at events such as the famous Burning Man Festival in Nevada, will captivate passers-by and create a sense of community pride and connection.
The Festival Flowers will contribute to the Neon Flower Garden in the Artist Collective area, on Quay Street outside the Rockhampton Museum of Art. Festival-goers will be able to contribute for free throughout the festival.
Aphrodite Art School will be working with the community to contribute to the Neon Garden.
