Rockhampton River Festival is dedicated to providing an accessible event experience. Should you have any special requirements during the event please don't hesitate to ask one of our helpful volunteers or event staff.
INFORMATION TENT
Festival staff are available at an accessible info tent located on Quay Street (between Customs House and Denham Street) to assist you with any access questions you may have.
COMPANION CARDS
Companion cards are accepted for the Godz, Ironing Maidens and Utopia Playshop experiences.
Please email riverfestival@rrc.qld.gov.au to request your complimentary companion ticket.

ASSISTANCE ANIMALS
Assistance and service animals are permitted at River Fest.
A suitable grassed area next to Customs House is available for toileting. Please ensure you clean up after you pet.
Water access for dogs is available at the bottom of public drinking fountains on Quay Street and the lower-bank.
Please note there will be fireworks shows on Friday at 7:45pm and Saturday 6:45pm and 8:45pm.
auslan interpreter
UnitePlayPerform workshops have been specifically designed to accommodate all abilities including Deaf and hard of hearing by including an Auslan Interpreter for all sessions of Hyper Temples Build and Destroy and Utopia Playshop.
QUIET ZONE
River Fest has a dedicated Sensory Quiet Zone at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre (corner of Derby and East Streets) for those needing a break during the festivities. The Quiet Zone is located on the Ground Level in the Rita Kershaw Meeting Room.
In partnership with Endeavour Foundation the Quiet Zone will be facilitated at the following times. Outside of these times, the area will be unsupervised but still accessible.

Sunday 28 July 2024 | 11am - 2pm & 3pm - 6pm

RAMP & LIFT ACCESS
All River Fest event areas are wheelchair accessible with flat bitumen or paved surfaces.
Attendees can access the lower-bank festival areas via the lift located at the Quay and Denham Street intersection or by a number of wheelchair ramps.
Tunuba Stage
A ramp is located on the left-hand side of The Boathouse on Quay Street.
Shipyard Zone
The Shipyard has two vehicle ramps accessible from Quay Street at the Derby Street and William Street intersections. A wheelchair ramp is also accessible from the Adventure Playground on William Street.
Rod Laver Plaza and the Community Art Zone
There is a vehicle ramp from the corner of William and Quay Street on the left-hand side of the public toilets. You can also access this area via the wheelchair ramp at the Adventure Playground on William Street and following the lower-bank pathway towards The Boathouse.
Walter Reid Cultural Centre
The Walter Reid is accessible on all levels by lift. Please note some studios may have access issues during peak times due to crowds.
Customs House
All Customs House shows are accessible by lift. Please see the friendly staff outside the venue 30 minutes before your show for assistance.

TOILETS
Accessible toilets are located at:
- Rod Laver Plaza (under The Boathouse)
- Rockhampton Museum of Art
- Walter Reid Cultural Centre
- Flavours of the World Precinct opposite the Criterion
- Quay Street near Derby Street
PARKING
Regular accessible parks are available within the CBD on East Street with additional temporary accessible parking on Denham Street opposite The Oxford Hotel and on William Street opposite The Heritage Hotel.
A Drop Off Zone is also available on William Street at the road closure.
ROCKHAMPTON MUSEUM OF ART
Rockhampton Museum of Art has a wide level entry from Quay Street with self-opening double doors. The museum is spread over three levels all serviced by an elevator. All signage throughout the building is raised and in Braille. Accessible and unisex amenities are available on all levels and doors are push to open, pull to exit.
