Explore a world of creativity at River Fest with our wide range of free kids' workshops! Perfect for budding artists of all ages, these engaging sessions are designed to ignite the creative juices and offer fun, hands-on experiences. While all workshops are free, some may require bookings due to limited spaces.
Join the 'Together We Create' Bunting Workshop by CQ Contemporary Artists at the Walter Reid Cultural Centre and express your love for Rockhampton or River Festival through bunting that will adorn the festival. Dive into the Festival Flowers Workshop by Aphrodite Art School, where participants use reclaimed materials to craft vibrant, meaningful oversized flowers.
Help celebrate River Festival's 10th anniversary by contributing to the River Fest Mural Creation with artist Jules Holland, or get involved in Community Gardens Paper Mosaic Designs with Yellow Paint Incorporated and design mosaic stepping stones for the Armstrong Street Community Gardens.
Older kids can enjoy specialised workshops like creating colourful Wooden Fish Earrings with Arco Iris Interiors, etching recycled tin with Wild Mount Morgan Clay, and dancing to electronic beats with The Ironing Maidens. For those who love a bit of destruction, the Build and Destroy workshop offers a fun demolition party with giant foam towers.

Fun and energetic this workshop is an inclusive experience for people of all ages and abilities. No prior experience necessary.
